What Happened In 2011?!

In 2011 World Prayr saw a number of things that were unique to its ministry. Starting with the role of leadership between Janice Burdsall and Senior Pastor Patrick Badstibner being changed. As Janice began taking on a more direct role for the leadership of the organization. Erik Retallick began serving directly over the ministry.

This allowed Pastor Pat to fade more into the background and concentrate on developing FaithFactr. Following is both a short letter from Pastor Pat and Director Janice Burdsall. Then below that is a breakdown of what happened in 2011.

Letter From Senior Pastor Patrick Badstibner

I have been blessed and honored to have served as the ramrod that God used to get this wonderful ministry off the ground.  Sometimes a ramrod does not always take the smoothest, easiest or smartest route. He only takes the route that he feels God has laid at his feet.

It has been my privilege and my blessing to see the ministry of World Prayr take off and grow. Somethings worked, some didn’t at the time like the Ezine! Some were good tools for a while but their purpose and the focus of the ministry changed the need for them like the Prayer Journal App on Facebook.

As our Director Janice shares in her letter some left and some who left returned. Some left having used their time in World Prayr as a learning, motivating growing experience to go on to better things. Other left for other reasons.

One thing has always been constant in World Prayr God only brings those who have true servant’s hearts and allows those who stay to be of like mind with the ministry. When someone does not have that they do not last within a ministry that from top down has one heart of  ”What Do You Ask Of Me Lord!”

This has become more evident over the last year! What God has done in the last year is strengthen the depth and strength of leadership within the ministry.  The truth of that World Prayr does not have volunteers but rather Servant’s Of The Most God has really become stronger and more entrenched.

Less and less is the statement of “I served your ministry with time I did not have” uttered. For those who serve in World Prayr know that World Prayr requires a different level of commitment.

It requires an understanding that World Prayr is no man’s ministry and those who serve in it understand that they have been bought with a price and the least they can do is live a true sacrificial life. That the greatest motivation they have is “He Loved Me First”

Now That is a Ministry I am blessed to be a part of!

World Prayr began the year with a bold claim that it was working to give away $550,000 dollars. Many thought that meant we were going to be giving away $550,000 dollars. However World Prayr never said that! What it stated and published was that it was working to give that away.

Now how did it work to give that away?!

In two very unique ways:

1) Through our focus ministries and ministry of the month! We do not know nor do we want to know how much was donated to the ministries that World Prayr aggressively promotes. What it does know is that it has been known to bring sometimes as much as four times of an increase to that website for that period.
2) The development and build of what is now FaithFactr! FaithFactr is truly those who serve in World Prayr working to give! It is a ground breaking way of doing ministry, generating revenue for ministry and supporting others in ministry. It truly is World Prayr honoring the truth of Philippians 2:2-4.

FaithFactr will allow World Prayr to continue it’s mission of giving away $550,000 dollars. You can learn more about FaithFactr here.

That is how World Prayr is working and continues to “Work to Give” in ministry!

Again I am excited to be part of such an awesome ministry!

I am now blessed to hand the reins so to speak over to other leaders as World Prayr needs a different form of leadership in order so that I may concentrate on the development of FaithFactr.

As you can tell I am excited about the future and growth of World Prayr, anyone involved or supporting should be as well.

In His Loving Responsible Grace
Pastor Pat

Letter From Director Janice Burdsall!

It has been a prosperous, blessed year for World Prayr Ministry.  Not as much in finances as in Kingdom Building.

We’ve seen first hand how God is always there with us to light the way and give for every need that arises with our team and being able to serve in all ways to the best of our abilities in what He gives. There have been members and even key leaders come and go this past year.

Though we were at times confused, frustrated and puzzled it soon became clear that it was surely the work of God in pruning and grooming the team.  For that we are humbled, thankful and blessed beyond words.

We have had 3 members return this year, that are very strong in leadership. We believe what makes our group unique is the way God brings the broken ones, whether with special needs, disabilities, hardships and survivors together.

Weak and small alone, but together in Him we are tall, strong and powerful. When another broken person joins ranks to serve beside us, they light up and are filled with joy to know that they too can join in with those individuals in our team that also suffer from illness and disabilities.

Because we are very aware that each of us alone, are nothing, yet are so wonderfully melded together, perfectly by the Lord to be able to do the job he lays before us. Each one adding a part that contributes to the the engine that keeps us going. Another blessing we are thankful for is that we have never wanted to be a “pretty” ministry with a showboat mentality and those we have on the team remain the humble pure servants serving the King of Kings, nothing more and nothing less.

The Glory is given to the One who gives and that is it. We have about 21 Leaders / Directors heading up the team, we help and support one another across the board and are simple servants, unselfishly doing His work, serving others.

In the upcoming year, our focus will be an ever closer walk in the Word and following His will. Communication will be key.  Never getting so big or busy that we loose touch with the core beliefs and keep up a family feel by encouraging and praying for one another.

The structure in leadership will help keep the team focused and on track.  We will be continually evaluating our leaders and directors to make sure all are fully on board and leading effectively.

When we have a leader slacking, the team falls apart as well.

God Bless
Janice

Facts Involving What Happened in 2011

RECRUITING:

Though we have a smaller than planned team for Recruiting, we have maintained a great presence in Twitter, Twitter Prayer Team and Facebook team. We will be using this group to help find more help for the “needhelp” in the future.

As well as specific Twitter Times available. Team members are joining in to help share the news of World Prayr from their social sites and is being effective in keeping membership up.

TRAINING:

We have 5 members serving to be available to meet and greet new members and help them become comfortable in moderating and or serving in all areas.   This team is able to recognize those new members that may be an asset in leadership.
All new members are trained before serving.

COMMUNICATION TEAM:

This team was started in 2011 and though hit a few road blocks is able to keep up team records and keeps contact with other Ministries and organizations as the need arises.

We have gained a member that creates prayer generated scheduled posts to keep up a presence on Twitter and Facebook even when there are no moderators.  She creates them to go out every 3 hours, a new fresh post each time.

This helped eliminate the “canned” tweets and posts showing up repeatedly.   She also posts an #mydailyprayr at 6 am each morning.

The friends and followers are eager to re-tweet and post several times a day.   We are communicating with Ministries as we seek to promote and support them.

FACEBOOK TEAM:

A true family exists with our Facebook team! There is also a group of “guardian angel” members who are physically unable to have a scheduled time of service to aid in overseeing the site when they are able.

This allows for constant watchful eyes, making sure we are present and answering prayers and comments as needed.   Since we re-built the Facebook from scratch after loosing it a year or so ago there has been a strong presence by team and a slow steady growth in interaction and followers.

After a year starting off with too many members moderating we have now a balanced presence on Facebook with a slower pace yet stronger voice.   In the beginning we had too much activity coming from our moderators which had to have flooded our friends timelines.

So although we slowed down a bit, you will find experienced prayer partners praying for and encouraging others.  We are proud that for the most part, we don’t have a certain few that stand out as being flashy or drawing attention to self there.

We have matured and grown into our Facebook and yet young enough to reach all ages… just not hyper or flashy.  Caring, loving servants.

We will be searching for ways to use our Alliance for Youth Facebook to draw in and support a younger group of friends.

TWITTER TEAM:

This team has come a very long way in 2011! Constant perserverance in model leadership and dedication has allowed this team to blossom and grow.

Our Twitter site has grown to 61,096 followers on Twitter.  Constant monitoring allows this number to be true and not filed with spammers or do we aggressively go out to inflate the number. No that number is rock solid!

Having a humble and dedicated team of Leaders and Members has been key in growing a stronger impact here.   We tried in earlier years to have a leader for each day of the week. We have moved to just the most dedicated to lead their team of moderators.  So we followed the clear path before us and  now have less.. yet truly great dayleaders.

The Directors along with Twitter Dayleaders login several times a day to make sure that we are representing the Lord as we should and that things are going smooth.   It is our wish to not miss any incoming requests or inquiries.

Our team takes their service seriously as unto the Lord.   By several leaders keeping an eye out we are able to watch and find those who may need help.
One of the things that we are very proud of is that when a team member leaves we do our best to send an occasional note to say hi and let them know we are thinking and praying for them.   We are blessed to have many more return happy to be back than those angrily leaving.

TWITTER PRAYER TEAM:

This awesome team is led and directed by the proper Dayleaders for Twitter.   The team that was once a prayer request, was greatly blessed and has evolved into a team of 28.

There are many new members that choose to serve only in this area.  We also have had moderators ask to be moved from Twitter moderating into serving here on the Prayer Team.

They serve times piggy back with moderators on Twitter.   Their sole job is to answer the Direct Messages that come in.  Usually for a period of 2 hours.

This team is guided and supported by the Twitter Dayleaders who offer encouragement, help and prayers.

HUMAN RESOURCES:

The vetting system we started a year ago has been effective in ensuring our members represent the heart of World Prayr. Because we have grown in membership and those wanted to join, we now need to expand this area and allow a few other trusted leaders to help communicate with and approve those wanting to join.

To do this, we have created a Gmail account where all inquires arrive.  Rather than communications going to one member. Samantha, the Director will continue to be the one with final approval, scheduling new members and introducing them to the training team to avoid too many hands on as they start serving.

QUALITY CONTROL:

We have a member, who has been here from the beginning, behind the scenes watching out for the integrity of Twitter site and keeps us up to date and informed with spam activity.

He also is the only one able to block or unfollow, to keep things tight and keep moderators from possibly making a friend angry by blocking them.   He is great at communicating concerns or issues with the Directors on twitter updates, and goings on as twitter changes things up.

Blogs and Devotionals:

What was originally a much bigger team of writers now has a smaller more qualified team.  It is steadily growing.   We have started a Pastors Corner that allows Pastors or those in leadership to share their hearts with the world.

We would eventually like to have Pastors representing many countries of the world and their people’s.   We have introduced a few movies and books as a review to bring attention to and highlight some of the books and other items we feature through FaithFactr.

We will expand on that in upcoming weeks and months. We will carefully bring in more of FaithFactr as we represent the various ministries 2 weeks of the month.
We continue to support, highlight and promote 1 ministry for 2 weeks out of the month.

These are the same ministries that we will be supporting with FaithFactr.

We will feature a Book Review each month on the book of the month.  One of our members is reading to share first hand his thoughts on that particular book.

We will add a blog from our Merchandizing teams also… featuring Home Décor, Bibles and Movies.

We will be adding testimonials of members and other ways to keep blogs fresh and up to date.

YouTube:

We have some awesome videos to share in our library.  More focused in the word and life changing, scriptural lessons. We now have over 100 videos in our WP library.

Reconnection Team:

This is the team that oversees the “needhelp@worldprayr”.  This team being the first year in running, has done a fantastic job of reconnecting those who have needs either by finding a church, someone to pray for them specifically, mentor them and offer encouragement.

We originally had many members in place by title, but in time realized the team had been pruned and minimized.  Leaving behind less servants, that could do more!  Or those that were truly doing the work anyway.

The team is prompt at responding to the incoming needhelp@worldprayr emails and phone calls and doing a wonderful job.  Sometimes following up again a 2nd time a few months later!

We are searching for those that live in the UK, South Africa and Indonesia, so that they can watch for incoming notes and respond even quicker.

BLIPFM.com

We now have our own account to share a library of music on Twitter.  Blip offers great choice of songs, some videos and with much less advertisements than normal YouTube videos have.

Google+

We have a World Prayr account set up here.  Although we have only 4 members posting there, it allows us to work on establishing a more business based following.

FaithFactr:

FaithFactr Express Shop launched in Facebook with over 1000 items many of them unique for an online based ministry store.  The larger department store is being set up now for an opening to take place in the very near future.

We have been graciously brought together with 2 wonderful women to help with the FaithFactr store and Facebook Express Store merchandising. Just as God provides for our every need in Ministry at World Prayr, He continues to graciously cover our needs and is right there with the provisions and tools we need to go ahead in FaithFactr as well!

So we think you can see by this that World Prayr truly has grown deeper, wider, stronger and more focused.
